President Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s \u201cI want nothing\u201d notes went viral this past week<\/a> \u2014 a sheet of paper scrawled with \u201cI WANT NOTHING. I WANT NOTHING. I WANT NO QUID PRO QUO,\u201d which Trump brought to this week\u2019s impeachment hearings. While the notes don\u2019t say all that much, the way the president wrote them apparently tells us a lot about his mindset, according to forensic handwriting examiner Sheila Lowe<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cSome of the Os have little stabby strokes coming into the middle, such as in \u2018word,\u2019\u201d she tells Rolling Stone <\/em>in an email. \u201cThis is a special area of communication in handwriting and should be clear. When there are such interferences, the usual interpretation is \u2014 wait for it \u2014 the sign of a liar.\u201d<\/p>\n Lowe has been analyzing Trump\u2019s handwriting since the early Nineties, she says, and notes that the president almost always uses a Sharpie, which \u201csuggests someone who is attracted to the trappings of luxury but wants it without having to put in a lot of effort to obtain it.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n As for the large, blocky writing, Lowe attributes that to him being \u201csomeone who has a strong need for security and to be in control, to be looked up to.\u201d The way the letters disconnect point to \u201csomeone who was unable to assimilate the difficulties he experienced in childhood, which leaves him open to life\u2019s various adversities. He lacks good coping mechanisms and has trouble relating fully to himself and to others.\u201d<\/p>\n
