The following is a detailed report of the Inauguration Ceremony of the Handwriting University, India Campus
On October 2, 2004, the Indian Campus of Handwriting University was inaugurated. The Chief Guest, Mr. Mariswamy, Commissioner of Police, Bangalore City, did the honors of Cutting the ribbon and declared the campus open. The ceremony was attended by close to 300 guests and the students of Handwriting University India. Mr. Imran Baig, Chief Coordinator extended a warm welcome and Introduced the Chief Guest to the gathering. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rafiullah Baig, President, Handwriting University India, narrated how he started learning Handwriting Analysis in 1998 from Bart Baggett, against tremendous odds, and then went on to teach this science to more than 5000 people in the last six years in India. In a separate ceremony, Mr. Baig was very recently conferred the Prestigious 'Kempegowda Prashasthi Award' from the government in recognition of his teachings of this science in India.
The Chief Guest, in his speech, commended the efforts of Handwriting University India in producing more and more professional Handwriting analysts in the country. He also noted that the police department needs training in this science, and suggested Mr. Rafiullah Baig conduct an increased number of workshops to further the education of the police department. On this occasion, a video message from Bart Baggett was played and the crowd enjoyed every bit of it. The crowd was on its feet with huge applause when Bart announced his plans of visiting India. Their were enquiries about his visit, and the students are all simply excited about his visit. The celebrations went on until late in the evening, with the guests enjoying the snacks and cool drinks. They left with a promise to come back soon to many such celebrations on the Indian campus of Handwriting University. Of the award ceremony, where he received the Kempegowda Prashasthi Award, Mr. Baig states: "The award ceremony was wonderful and it was a memorable event in my career as a Handwriting Expert. The entire ceremony was a very colorful affair, and my parents were very proud to see me receiving the award, while my students cheered all the way. Mr. Baig says, "I STILL receive at least five congratulations every day from different people for the award. "A local newspaper has published a report on a full page interview they conducted with me. It also covered information about Handwriting University, USA, and Bart Baggett. "An American student, studying journalism in Bangalore, interviewed me for his university magazine. He was glad to know about you and may contact you once he is back in the USA. "A National newspaper reporter is interviewing me tomorrow at 11.30 AM, and I am mentioning about Bart's visit and the Bangalore Summit in December."
