"What the Bleep?!?" By Kathi McKnight
Have you seen the movie that has EVERYONE talking???? It is called "What the* Bleep*!! Do We Know?" It has been called controversial, powerful, a movie about the possibilities of possibility, as well as one of the best films of the year. This film, argues a new scientific world view that there is a greater reality behind the one we all accept as true.
Whats all the buzz about and why am I writing about it here???? Because as handwriting analysts, you are ahead of the game. Let me explain why and how. What we write comes from the conscious mind. How we write, comes from the unconscious mind. You are pulled to this art, this science of graphology, because you are intrigued about the deep mysteries of the human psyche. As one reporter wrote of the movie, it reminds us that the outer reaches of physics are full of mystery and wonder."
The movie, What the Bleep!?!..." delves into a scientific explanation of the human psyche by engaging the concepts of quantum physics. It addresses, quite plainly, how we create our own reality through our neuro-pathways.
In Barts newsletter of October 19, 2004, there was an audio clip that addressed a question frequently asked: Can a person really change their life by changing their handwriting? The answer is "Yes!" And heres why:
As Bart stated in his article, First, neuro-muscular connections have a direct impact on the neuro-pathways to the brain that hold patterns of behavior. Secondly, it gives the subject a clear and visual representation of the change she is making on a daily basis...reinforcing the belief system and cementing the change in behavior consciously and unconsciously.
Do you realize the world has never been so ready to embrace these concepts? People everywhere are hungry to understand more. As graphologists, you will come to study the principles of grapho-therapy and they really do go hand in hand with the idea of changing your reality by being in charge of your own thoughts. "Change your writing to change your life," is a term that is not so foreign anymore. You may not be able to choose the hand you are dealt, but you can choose how to react to it. I personally know of two psychologists who work with prison inmates out on parole, using grapho-therapy with great results.
Each of us learned how to write EXACTLY the same way in 2nd to 3rd grade. In fact, we were meticulously corrected if we strayed from the precise strokes we were taught, remember? And yet, as early as 4th and 5th grade, many students handwriting begins to change, showing their true personalities, straying from the strict, exact method they were taught.
It supports the idea that when we write, we arent really handwriting, we are brain writing. The pen, even the arm, is just a tool. That is why a paraplegic who has to write with the pen in their mouth, or with their toes, can absolutely have their handwriting analyzed.
In What the *Bleep!?! Do We Know? it talks about how we create our reality every day. Its true. It's just that most people dont do it consciously. Again, what we write, comes from our conscious mind, how write, comes from our unconscious mind. When we become conscious about how we write, we begin to live our life by design, instead of by default. We begin to be proactive in creating our life, instead of just reacting to the circumstances in our life.
As certified graphologists, you can help so many people become conscious about their writing. They can then make choices to alter their writing patterns, that represent behavior patterns, that may be holding them back in life. And you never know what kind of fantastic changes can happen in a persons life.
Grapho-therapy often addresses the letter t. The higher the t-bar is crossed on the t-stem, the higher a persons goals and self-esteem. This is one of the earliest and most basic things every graphologist learns. There are over 30 different character traits to the letter t, depending on how it is written. The letter t can reveal It is an indicator of how much charisma a person has,
It can tell if a person is experiencing anxiety and has their feelings hurt easily.
There is a stroke that indicates if a person takes initiative.
The end stroke slopes up and right but does not cross. Or, it can show if a person is extra-prepared for anything. They usually have two of most everything and carry spares to be prepared. This is always a fun trait to see when I come across it because it is rare.
One year I had Thanksgiving at a distant cousins house. I hadnt seen her practically since childhood and on this occasion met her husband for the first time. After all the turkey and the last piece of pie had been consumed, and everyone was beginning to think about a nap, it was brought up that I do handwriting analysis. I was asked to do a sampling of everyones signature. I really didnt know my cousins husband, before having met him on that Thanksgiving day, but I delighted in finding this trait in his handwriting. When I asked, Were you a boy scout or perhaps an Eagle Scout growing up?? Because, you really are extra, extra prepared for emergencies or anything that might happen in life, the whole room just roared. Apparently that was a well known idiosyncrasy of my cousins husband, that the family had come to make fun of, and had learned to affectionately endure. I havent seen it too many times. It is just like the stroke that says a person takes initiative, or is an initiator .
And then add the t crossing to it.
And that is the stroke that says this person is prepared for everything. It is not uncommon to see a t like this:
Of course, it means the writer is putting pressure on themselves, sometimes they are involved in something they dont want to do. This can be found in workaholics, or people who have bulimia. It also means persistence a good trait for an employer to find when he is interviewing for a sales position. This is called a tie stroke. As important as all of that is, I think there is a letter that needs special attention in grapho-therapy. It is the small letter d. If you have studied handwriting analysis, even just a little bit, then you already know that you need to make your d stem completely re-traced, with no loop in there whatsoever. The letter d is the 10th most-used letter. It tells us how we feel about our physical self, clothes etc. The amount of space in the loop of the d tells the degree of self-consciousness a person has regarding their physical self. If the d stem is retraced, then the person experiences poise and confidence.
If the d looks like this
it means there is a degree of self-consciousness. And if the d has a loop that is this big,
It means they are very self-conscious and very aware of their body, their clothes and that on some level they are not taking very good care of their body (not enough sleep, maybe they need to quit smoking, they need to eat healthier, or start working out.) The saddest thing of all is, if the loop is large and it tends to bend over backwards, it means they subconsciously see themselves failing. They have a program inside where they believe they are not capable of success. It would be interesting to look further in the handwriting to see if the stroke of fear of success is also in the handwriting.
There are so many people in the world who have loops in their ds. When you see this, you want to take a moment to really be mindful, or sensitive with the person, when advising them of grapho-therapy. The larger the loop in the d, yes, the more paranoid a person is. But, what is often left out of some of the textbooks, is that the person has suffered a great pain and has a tremendous sensitivity around this pain deep inside. The larger the loop in the d, the more susceptible they are to praise and compliments. Be sure to use that knowledge in a way that will empower this person.. The majority of people dont have the advantage of having knowledge of handwriting analysis. They do not realize that every single time they cross that t-bar so low on the t-stem, that they are making a direct impact on the neuro-pathways to the brain that hold patterns of behavior. In other words, they are deliberately, albeit, unconsciously, driving home a pattern of low self-esteem. Now, imagine you, a certified graphologist, having this knowledge, helping so many people to change one single handwriting stroke, what a difference it would make in their day, perhaps even in the world. Have you seen the amusing Snickers® commercial on TV where one thing leads to another and ultimately the message is, eat a Snickers bar and become president? Well Im telling you, if a person feels better about themselves, they are far less likely to kick their dog, snap at their wife or act out with road rage, all of which creates then another reaction from the person on the receiving end. It was Sir Isaac Newton who said, For every action, there is an opposite and equal reaction. Imagine a person who has low self-esteem, yelling at his wife in front of his kids, and if you watch Oprah, you are very clear on what kind of impact that has on a child growing up. Now, imagine this same person who has learned to raise his t-bars and instead of yelling at his wife and kids, now decides to do a random act of kindness. Every thought, every action that we do, has an effect on our world. When we start living consciously, we start creating a different kind of world to live in. We can start changing the world from one of violence and lack, to one of peace and abundance. If you choose to pursue grapho-therapy in a mindful way in your graphology practice, you are doing your part in the world to help people heal on this planet. Its just like Tony Robbins said, he never saw good things come from people who are living in lack and poverty (can be monetary, or emotional and psychological lack and poverty) It is when people feel truly good about themselves that they can be real contributors in society and to the world. With a background in clinical research, my first reaction was to search for the evidence that this science is accurate. Upon investigation, biologically, handwriting analysis' validity makes perfect sense. Ultimately, my own personal improvement was all the proof I needed to change from skeptic to believer!" Deborah Mraz ------------------------------------------------------------------- This is singularly the most empowering seminar I have ever attended. It is said that one must love oneself before one can love another. I would carry that thought further to say that in order to effectively help anyone else, one must effectively help ones self first.
