Handwriting Analysis of Rush Limbaugh

First, the nature of the situation surrounding this handwriting sample cannot be ignored.  Rush gets his bottle of “Viagra” confiscated at customs.  For a bona fide celebrity and moral pundit, this is ironic and funny. And, in 2017, he passed away.

However, handwriting analysis is not about the irony of the circumstance, but our purpose is to utilize handwriting to gain insight into the character, personality, and motivations of the individual.  If a person’s public actions confirm or deny these character traits… then it is a useful fact check.

If you are not familiar with Mr. Limbaugh’s body of work – he is one of the USA top rated radio hosts who is infamous for his strong Republican ideals, conservative beliefs, and biting sense of humor.  He is known to be very “controversial” and even downright offensive to many people.  This is the reason his radio program is so successful… he offends, entertains, and informs. Even people who hate his ideas, listen, because they are so shocked by his statements.  He is famous in the United States.

First, you will notice the only cursive writing is utilized in the signature.  The rest of the document is written in strong, bold, capital letters.  Because of this we are going to have some traits which we cannot confirm or deny, which would normally show up in cursive.  However, the document still screams his persona,  incredibly loud.

Despite the majority of his writing being in block printing, he still has t-bars which extend above the stems, indicating high goals, if not a tendency to dream big.  His capital E is often made with three strokes, instead of four, this could indicate efficiency or fluidity.  The strongest indicator of his strong mind and successful career would be the down-strokes which extend far below the baseline in most of the first letter A.  This is a classic primary dictionary trait of “Determination”.

The formation of his M is very unique (See the words CUSTOMS and FROM).  He had needle  point upper humps, indicating comprehensive thinking, fast mind, and strong hyper fast thinking patterns.

If you combine the fast mind with the fluidity of thought, shown in the g in his signature, you will see why a career in talk radio is an excellent choice for man with quick wit, fluid thoughts, and ultra-masculine persona which is tough-as-nails under fire (block printing).

I am unable to get an accurate measurement of his slant, but I don’t think the upper strokes in the few m and n humps are at least a BD/ CD… it would not surprise me if he is an E+ writer… we simply don’t have the right type of writing to reveal it accurately.  His signature is stringy, again not portraying an easy analysis of the slant.

The letter O is clear, open, and talkative. This trait is essential for talk-radio, as he literally talks to himself for 3 hours per day into a microphone, alone in a studio. Talkative would be a prerequisite for this type of work.

Also, given the strong success traits (high self-esteem, fluidity of thinking, determination, large ego), I would bet his ego is very protected from the constant criticism he gets from his words. Most men with block printing have strong ego-defense mechanisms and are not quick to show vulnerability or  sensitive emotions.  Anger and Aggressiveness are emotions which are acceptable to reveal, for block printers… as these are masculine in nature.

The t-bar which is arched like an umbrella reveals “self-control”, which indicates he has impulses which he is having a hard time controlling… but winning.  If you read the second document, in 2006, he was overcoming a addiction to pain medication… so that might be connected to this trait, at this time.

  1. Correct me if I’m wrong, however, doesn’t the capital letters in the middle of the words where lower case letters should be reveal the trait of one whom thinks himself to be of more importance than the average person? Excluding the K. which represents a different trait. Also I analyze the T’s to be crossed above the stem bordering into the trait of a dreamer. Goals beyond the normal expectations

  2. Just 2 brief comments: some of his O’s are humungously fat, which reminds me of Jackie Gleason’s “Alice, I’ve got a BIGGGGGGG mouth!”
Then, notice the pressure changes (i.e. angry frustration). Yep, we’re looking at a big Ego, for sure.

  3. Love Charlie Benedetti’s sentence, “some of his O’s are humungously fat, which reminds me of Jackie Gleason’s “Alice, I’ve got a BIGGGGGGG mouth!” so funny for sure!
Because Rush Limbaugh has some very wide open letters, D’s and O’s, etc. if I hadn’t already known he owned a huge physical body I would have bet my “bippy’ (remember that old phrase from the TV show Laugh In?) that this was so. I know that this is not a scientifically proven truth but have found it to be true in a lot of handwriting analyses I’ve seen and done personally.
Finally in some of the strokes it looks as if there are shaky strokes which makes one think that there must have been a physical component to why that stroke was formed that way (shakes from withdrawal maybe?) the addiction to pain meds.

  4. fast in life, busy schedule, wasting of time and energy ie some alphabets are open eg- R,D,P..Block writing-he dosent want to reveal his true identity to others,

sign not clear-sometimes person dosent know where he is going, confusion,no clarity in life.

  5. This is wonderful! I’m currently taking the IGAS class – and a lot of this analysis looks like the same format! Do you have any Romney samples?
